Growth and Partnerships Manager
We are a small and impactful team, excited to welcome a passionate and committed Growth and Partnerships Manager to the Collections arm of our organisation.
About Reground
Reground is a waste education service committed to changing behaviour around waste. We believe waste is a resource. We collect coffee, chaff, and soft plastic from cafes, offices, retail stores, and roasteries in Melbourne and we are actively engaged in changing the systems around waste through applied solutions and advocacy work.
So far we have diverted over 1,220,000 kilos of coffee from landfill to community and home gardeners and helped hundreds of businesses move into the circular economy. We also work closely with councils, state government and corporations on best waste practices and waste avoidance.

About the Role
The Growth & Partnerships Manager role will be core to the growth and success of Reground, working closely with the operations team and the CEO to take the unique Reground collections model to the next level.

As the role sits within our Collections team, your focus will be on connecting with our ground coffee, chaff and soft plastic recycling partners to grow and evolve our circular waste strategies and operations; you’ll also be working more broadly on strategy and success for the organisation as a whole.
Our ideal candidate will have a passion for bringing the community (as well as businesses) into the circular economy and the skills to develop and deliver innovative ways to make it happen.
You will be highly motivated to change the fact that too many businesses are still sending valuable resources to landfill. You are personable, a clear and effective communicator and able to build rapport quickly. A social event does not scare you and public speaking is something you enjoy.

To thrive in this role you will need to be responsible, self motivated, highly organised and efficient at managing a range of projects - often independently - as well as a contributing enthusiastically to the team.
A key part of the role will be overseeing a major expansion project into regional Victoria and eventually, interstate. This is a tremendous opportunity for Reground - with the capacity for enormous positive environmental and social impact - and will need to be delivered to the highest level. A high degree of professionalism will be essential In your role representing one of the most dynamic and progressive waste organisations in Victoria.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
This role is for four days per week; some of the weekly tasks are:
Relationship building small to large Reground collection customers such as cafe groups, retail groups, corporates, etc.
Identify new and potential growth opportunities
Outreach to businesses
Pitching new business opportunities to potential partners and clients
Designing and delivering content for events, presentations and workshops
Financial forecasting
Strategic development
About you
Passionate about the environment and building resilience in the community
Confident, outgoing and comfortable forming relationships with new people (sometimes from no introduction)
Comfortable strengthening those relationships so we are able to call on them and pitch new projects
Personable and approachable, able to break down barriers
Organised, efficient, able to prioritise and manage numerous projects and small tasks
Collaborative and good at sharing with the team and asking for help
Curious, creative and eager to learn
Able to step back and see the bigger picture whilst working in the details
A clear and succinct communicator
High level of capability in MS Excel, CRM systems, Google Drive
A little extra
You don’t need to know much about waste, you’ll learn all the ins and outs of this when joining, however, you do need to recognise the importance and the potential that waste plays in combating climate change and creating community and well-being.
A full Australian driver's license and access to a vehicle will be a bonus.
