In April 2020, Reground were employed by East Brunswick Village developers Banco Group to design and implement a better waste practice management system including waste avoidance education for residents at the newly developed apartment complex.

Reground established a resource recovery system consisting of six separate streams, a circular system unsurpassed creating a new standard for waste at apartment buildings. This system functioned to keep as many resources as possible out of landfill, decrease contamination in the recycling streams, and lower the overall material output at East Brunswick Village residents.

Reground set up the waste and recycling infrastructure, ensuring effective waste management and education across the apartment building. This resulted in the most efficient, financially sound, and sustainable waste contractor arrangements, an effective waste room setup, resident education and ongoing support.

“Sustainability is actionable at EBV, which is all thanks to our partners from Reground.

They have provided our residents copious amounts of knowledge on ways to improve their understanding of waste consumption and management, especially within the home. I feel as if I am more equipped in furthering my own behaviours toward sustainability thanks to these lessons. I have loved seeing the enthusiasm and curiosity from residents as well as being able to facilitate this learning process.

I look forward to seeing what the future holds for everyone at EBV, which I’m certain will be greener for the better!”
